My work centers on rigorous legal research, clear writing, and careful analysis of the record. I identify the controlling law, clarify the disputed issues, and examine how the facts support—or limit—the arguments.
As a Judicial Staff Attorney in the Fifth Chancery Court District, I work on matters involving equity, domestic relations, guardianships, mental-health commitments, wills, constitutional challenges, land records, and administrative appeals. I research disputed legal issues and analyze motions and case records to support judicial decision-making. My work also includes drafting orders, judgments, findings of fact, and conclusions of law.
Previously, I practiced with Toney Baldwin & Associates, PLLC, handling personal injury, paternity, custody, divorce, and criminal defense matters. I also served as a judicial law clerk and staff attorney in the Seventh Circuit Court District, with concurrent court administration responsibilities.
My experience across private practice, judicial chambers, and court administration informs an approach grounded in careful listening, candid analysis, and clear explanations of the facts, the law, the available options, and their potential consequences.
“The strongest legal work begins with a clear understanding of the facts and the law—and the judgment to recognize what matters to the decision.”
